Exercise

exercise 5The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. And the benefits of exercise are yours for the taking, regardless of your age, sex or physical ability.  There are many health benefits such as reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases.

Regular exercise boosts energy and improves stamina by training your body to become more efficient and use less energy making it easier to do normal daily activities as well as more challenging activities.  At the same time, it promotes better sleep.

Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals which improve your mood, it improves your appearance by toning your body as well as losing weight, and you feel better about yourself.

These are just a few of the benefits of regular exercise.  Remember that a good exercise program consists of cardiovascular, strengthening and stretching (I emphasis this because I find most people don’t like to stretch and skip it).  Aim for at least 30 minutes 5-7 days a week.  If you haven’t exercised for a while, start out slowly and check with your doctor if there are any health concerns.  I often review exercises to make sure they are being done correctly or might need “tweaking”.

Exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun.
